At Radiance we will carry out an initial detailed one to one consultation with you. It provides you with an opportunity to discuss your concerns and expectations. Our doctor will then carefully perform the 8 step peel. This appointment will take approximately 30 minutes. Its quick, minimally invasive and with little downtime.
Chemical peels are very safe to use and are suitable for most men and women. It should be avoided if you have any of the following:
· Pregnant, trying to conceive or breast feeding
· A previous reaction to a chemical peel
· Very sensitive skin
The peel uses a combination of 20% Salicylic, Lactic and Glycolic acid to help improve the appearance of the skin and encourage a healthy cell turnover. You may experience a warm/tingling sensation when the peel solution is initially applied which will subside within a few minutes.
Chemical peels are a safe treatment. Most people will be able to return to work immediately. The side effects are mild. They include tingling during the procedure and often mild redness and peeling following the peel. These usually resolve quickly.
You should not have treatment if you have a social event coming up. Postpone treatment if a cold sore develops or discuss this with one of our doctors. Avoid any active products including Retinols, Tretinoins, Pore therapy or any skin products containing active ingredients for 5 days before the peel. Relax! Avoid exercise especially excess that would cause excessive sweating.
Its best to avoid make up for 24 hours.
Avoid active products like Retinols and Vitamin C products for 5 days after the peel.
